A barn fire killed 24 horses Thursday morning in Simsbury, Connecticut, reported WFSB-TV.
The fire occurred around 6 a.m. at Folly Farm and caused road closures in the area, according to Simsbury police.
The Hartford Courant reported the fire extinguished about an hour later.
The farm posted a statement on its Facebook page, saying the fire department is investigating for the cause of the fire.
"Our hearts are broken," the post said. "These horses and our clients are our family."
No people were injured by the fire, WFSB reported.
